It was in January of 2006 that I caught a big break. Country music legend Mel Tillis heard a demo I had made in Nashville while he was at a family member’s hunting camp. Upon hearing it, Mel wanted to meet me. At that time, I was just before moving to Nashville to give it a whirl. My family had just thrown me a "moving to Nashville party."

Hootie & The Blowfish — The quartet met when they were freshman at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Mark Bryan heard Darius Rucker singing in the showers of the dorm they shared and was impressed by his vocal ability. Bryan and Rucker began playing cover tunes as The Wolf Brothers; eventually Bryan and Rucker hooked up with Felber, a former high school band mate of Bryan's, and Jim "Soni" Sonefeld as Hootie & The Blowfish. (The unlikely moniker was borrowed from the nicknames of two college friends.)

In the late 1960’s Roger Earl & Lonesome Dave Peverett first toured America as members of the British Blues band Savoy Brown. In 1971, wanting to give their music a more Rock ‘n Roll feel they enlisted lead/slide guitarist Rod Price & bassist Tony Stevens, formed a new band, Foghat, and the rest is part of Rock and Roll history.
